What Does a Pluto Transit Feel Like?

It takes a certain amount of detachment to be a good astrologer. You have to be analytical and not jump to conclusions and not say what you think the client wants to hear, but rather tell them what is actually shown by the chart. On the other hand, it takes an ability to describe emotion to be a good poet. As an astrologer, I will sometimes tell a client that a Pluto transit will indicate a metaphorical death and rebirth in the area of their chart that is being “hit” by transiting Pluto. Hearing it, knowing it’s happening and living it are different things. Having been through a few intense Pluto transits myself, I read this poem by Mary Oliver and it resonated with me. If you have something prominent in the early degrees of Aquarius, or the early degrees of Leo, Taurus, or Scorpio, this poem may speak to you.

One day you finally knew

What you had to do, and began,
